Biography
Kari Shaw has been a dance teacher for more than two decades and has been Instructor of Dance for the past 16 years. She holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance Performance from Oklahoma City University and has performed in Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma's productions of West Side Story, On Your Toes, and Hello Dolly! She has studied in Los Angeles at the Edge Performing Arts Center and the Joe Tremaine Dance Studio. In addition to choreographing for The American Spirit Dance Company and the Oklahoma Opera & Music Theater Company, Shaw teaches tap, jazz, choreography theory, choreography performance, and was the director of the annual Student Choreography Show for multiple years. Her choreography has been included in The American Spirit Dance Company’s domestic and international tours. She has also choreographed for Camp Superstar in Lyric Theatre’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
