Biography
Mel O’Neil is a working commercial casting director based in Los Angeles. For more than 22 years, she has worked in this industry and during the past 12 years, as partner at Mel and Liz Casting; known for finding the faces and personalities for some of the biggest brands and companies. Mel’s strong, personalized relationships with ad agencies, production companies, and directors have allowed her to cast for a wide variety of projects.
Mel has a passion for finding new faces and upcoming talent for her clients. She understands what it is like to be an actor having acted in TV, Commercials, and Regional Theatre. She has a BA in Theatre Arts from Cortland University, training from William Esper Studios in NYC, and she studied abroad at the prestigious Riverside Studios & National Theatre in London. Proud SAG/AFTRA and CCDA (Commercial Casting Director’s Association) member.
Mel is excited to bring her expertise to students and give them the tools they need to feel empowered and prepared when auditioning for commercials. She genuinely loves offering a behind the scenes view of the acting and casting business and wants students to succeed in making the most of their opportunities
