Biography

Miriam joined the University Advancement team at Oklahoma City University in 2024, bringing a wealth of experience from her previous role in Student Affairs. In Career Services, Miriam strengthened relations with employers to recruit and employ OCU Stars, while cultivating relationships with students and alumni to advise them on their professional development and career aspirations.

Prior to her tenure at OCU, Miriam spent four years in the nonprofit sector, honing her skills in program development, strategic communications, and community engagement. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from the OCU Meinders School of Business in 2016 and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership.

Miriam is actively involved in the community, currently serving in the OKC ZOOtroop Council, Stephenson Cancer Center Community Advisory Board, as a Founding Board of Directors for OKC Latino Young Professionals, and a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma City’s L.O.Y.A.L. Class XVII. Additionally, she engages in numerous community and educational committees across the OKC metro area.

Her dedication to community service has been recognized with several awards, including the Next Gen Under 30, Calle Dos Cinco in Historic Capitol Hill Recognition of Service, and the Dove Schools Distinguished Alumni Award, which she received for her efforts in successfully opening the south campus of Dove Schools as the Chair of the Foundation Board.
