Biography

Susan Cosby, the Associate Executive Director and Associate Professor of Arts Management, holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance and a Master of Business Administration in Arts Management from Oklahoma City University. She currently serves on the Arts Management faculty and teaches Arts Management & Production Levels 1 and 2, Touring, Contracts, and the Arts Management Capstone, Producing. She serves as the Technical Advisor for the Student Choreography Show, the Student Success Coordinator, and is Acting Assistant Dean of the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment.

Cosby's previous faculty work at OCU earned her the Adjunct Faculty Member of the Year award. She also formerly served for many years as the Company Manager for the world-renowned American Spirit Dance Company here at OCU. In this position, she was the Production Stage Manager for the Oklahoma City Philharmonic’s Yuletide Magic and for several of the dance company’s regional and international tours. Other stage management experience includes the Norman Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker and the Classical Ballet School’s productions of The Nightingale, Rapunzel and Alice in Wonderland. Before becoming an arts manager and professor, Cosby performed at numerous regional theaters, on cruise ships and at Walt Disney World. Her favorite roles include being a swing on the national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat starring Donny Osmond, ensemble in the European tour of 42nd Street, as well as Peggy Sawyer in Lyric Theatre’s production of 42nd Street.
