Judy Reyes-Henderson, assistant vice president for university development at Oklahoma City University, was awarded a certificate from the Nonprofit Management Certification Program by the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits.

As a participant in the six-month professional development program, Reyes-Henderson accumulated 36 hours of continuing professional education in the following content areas: Motivation and Engagement, Managing Support for the Organization, Coaching as Supervision, Managing Budgets and Leading Meetings, Human Resources, Diversity and Conflict Management.

“Managing a nonprofit is a very challenging job and the center is so pleased to be able to offer this comprehensive program that touches on the essential skills that are required,” said Marnie Taylor, president and CEO of the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits. “A nonprofit leader is often expected to be ‘a jack of all trades,’ which is very challenging, and this program equips leaders to meet that expectation.”

Reyes-Henderson has served in her current role since 2016 and first came to OCU as the director of development in 2015. Prior to OCU, she was the director of corporate and foundation relations at Langston University. She also worked for seven years at the University of Central Oklahoma as a development manager. She is a member of the Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber and a charter member and co-founder of the Latino Faculty/Staff/Alumni Association at UCO. She formerly served on the board of directors for the March of Dimes and has volunteered for the Regional Food Bank and the United Way.
