Campus Lockdown Information

Message from President Robert Henry:

Campus Community,

We were contacted by the Oklahoma City Police Department shortly after 2 p.m. about a shooting that occurred in an area just south of campus. We immediately placed the campus on lockdown via the Blue Alert emergency messaging system. Oklahoma City University police conducted a search and determined the campus to be safe. The campus was on lockdown for approximately 40 minutes.

Oklahoma City police have continued searching for the suspect off campus. The suspect vehicle is a 2010 red Chevrolet HHR with License Plate No. 768-FXG. Anyone who spots the vehicle is asked to call 911.

I would like to commend our university police department for quickly notifying the university community of the incident, and our students, faculty, and staff for taking quick action to shelter in place while the campus was searched. The safety of our campus community is our top priority.
