Do you know someone interested in making a career out of their love for video games and animated graphics?

Oklahoma City University’s new Game Design & Animation degree program is hosting a public informational session to share details of the program and answer questions for prospective students. The session is set for 7 p.m. Dec. 10 and is open to anyone wanting to learn more via Zoom.

“Game development is one of the most exciting careers you can imagine,” said Jeff Price, program chairman and professor. “This rewarding industry encourages creativity, hard work and collaboration from the idea phase of games through the launch of the finished project.”

The virtual event will offer students a chance to meet with Game Design & Animation faculty, current students, and an admissions counselor to learn more about this exciting new program, which serves as an innovative way to connect students with their passions through a career-ready education. It will ready them for the relatively new but growing field by providing expertise on technology, artistry and art history as they develop skills to become a whole artist. Students also get to study 3D animation, virtual reality and motion-capture technology.

Applications for the fall 2021 semester are currently being accepted, and every student accepted into the program will receive a scholarship of $6,000 per academic year. The award is renewed every year for students who continue through the program and who have a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Registration for the informational session is available at okcu.link/infosession.
