Renaissance Periodization, an organization that creates nutritional guidelines based on scientific research, is providing a textbook for students in an Oklahoma City University Exercise and Sports Science course for the fall semester.
Renaissance Periodization (RP) is regarded as one of the most respected, evidence-based diet and nutrition programs in the United States, said OKCU’s Exercise and Sports Science program director Jason Miller.
“The sponsorship by RP of the nutrition course provides students with not only a theoretical basis for good nutrition, but also a practical application of evidence-based dietary guidance,” Miller said.
RP was started by professors, doctors and registered dietitians. It has worked with fitness organizations including CrossFit and is an official sponsor of United States Weightlifting. RP will provide each student in OKCU’s nutrition class with a copy of “The Renaissance Diet.” It is the only college that has an arrangement with RP for its materials.
