OCU names nonprofit program director

Oklahoma City University has named Beth Adele as director of the Nonprofit Leadership program in the Petree College of Arts & Sciences. Adele is also director of OCU’s Mass Communications department.

Prior to serving OCU, she was the director of marketing at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. Adele was previously the acting chairperson and assistant to the dean at Cameron University’s School of Business in Lawton. Before her positions in Lawton, she served as the director of Career Services and instructor of marketing at the University of Central Oklahoma. She was also instrumental in the creation of the Veteran Higher Education Resources Office at UCO.

“Based on her strong career path, her devotion to service and her proclivity for innovation, we are beyond confident in Dr. Adele as our next program director,” said Amy Cataldi, dean of the Petree College of Arts & Sciences. “With her appointment, we continue a tradition of outstanding community leaders as academic visionaries for the program. Beth has the immense responsibility and honor of walking in the footsteps of Drs. Robert Spinks and Randy Macon, who created and nourished our Nonprofit Leadership master’s program - dedicated to social and voluntary services as well as arts administration.”

Adele earned her Ph.D. in human resource development at the University of Texas at Tyler, and a Bachelor of Music and MBA from UCO. She completed the Nonprofit Management Certification from the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits as well as the Instructional Design Certification from the Association for Talent Development (ATD). Adele is a member of the American Marketing Association and ATD.
