Stars Week kicked off this week with 316 freshmen moving into OCU residence halls. New students have been getting to know one another and exploring the campus. Activities like the Stars Week welcome picnic and matriculation have given students a feel for their new home. The rest of the week is packed with campus-wide events including the Blue Out Blow Out Pep Rally, Open Mic Night and Capture the Flag.
The first year experiences program (FYE) is designed to help students make the transition to campus life while providing the tools they will need for academic success. “We support first-year students through orientation programs providing opportunities for engagement across campus and connecting students to resources to promote retention, academic and personal growth,” said Colbi Beam, FYE coordinator.
