Silent March Honors Martin Luther King

OCU faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in Oklahoma City’s celebration honoring Martin Luther King on Monday.

The Silent March will begin at 9 a.m. at the Freedom Center, located at N.E. 26th Street and MLK Boulevard, ending at the Oklahoma History Center at Phillips Avenue and N.E. 23rd Street. Please gather at 8 a.m. in advance of the march. The symbolic Bell Ringing Ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at the Oklahoma History Center.

The MLK Day Holiday Parade will begin at 2 p.m. The route proceeds from Broadway and 8th Street to Sheridan and Mickey Mantle Drive. Please gather by 1 p.m. in advance of the parade.
The theme this year is “The Color of Unity.” Consider incorporating the theme into signage, T-shirts or elsewhere, and also consider wearing OCU attire as a sign of campus unity.
