Oklahoma City University students Austin Gipson-Black and Randy Gipson-Black, of Texola, were honored last month with Campus Leadership Awards.

Austin was recognized with the Outstanding Junior Award, and Randy received the award for Outstanding Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion on behalf of the Student Government Association, where he serves as president.

Austin said his role as vice president of the Student Government Association, his involvement with the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and his academic endeavors have allowed him to work with campus organizations to make Oklahoma City University a fun, safe and exciting learning environment.

Randy has worked to enhance diversity and inclusion across the campus community by diversifying all aspects of Student Government. He also served on the university’s committee for diversity and inclusion and its partner task force.

Both Austin and Randy are religion/philosophy and political science juniors at Oklahoma City University.
