OKLAHOMA CITY— Students from Oklahoma City University’s Meinders School of Business won second place in the world today at the finals of the Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition in Singapore.
Students Ashley Nguyen, Timothy Harlin, Rocky Chavez and Nathan Nelson advanced through state and international semifinal levels of competition before being selected for the final round of competition. The team won OCU’s Love’s Entrepreneurship Center competition, placed third in the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup statewide competition and was among 15 international semifinalists.
Meinders School of Business Professor Bob Greve, faculty advisor to the team, said he is proud of their performance.
“They’ve worked hard as individuals and as a team,” he said.
OCU’s team wrote a business plan for Medtrieval, an automated medication retrieval system. They are the only American team in the world finals.
