Michael Anderson, Oklahoma City Universityís associate professor of trumpet and member of the board of directors of the International Trumpet Guild, was a featured presenter at the 2008 ITGís annual conference, held this year at the Banff Centre, Alberta.
Also attending the June 1-5 Canadian event was OCU junior trumpet major Cotey Bowman, who was awarded a competitive scholarship from Conn-Selmer based on his taped audition.
Anderson, director of brass studies at OCUís Bass School of Music, is editor of the ITG Journalís Trumpet Technology column, executive director of the ITG web site, and a member of the ITG Journalís editorial committee. His June 14 Banff presentation centered on new versions of an interactive, computer-based practice tool for musicians.
