Dr. Jennifer Therese Kerber, adjunct instructor of voice, won the 2008 Oklahoma division of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Awards, held April 4-5 in San Antonio.
Kerber finished third in the Texoma region, comprised of Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. ??The purpose of NATSSA competition is to “select young singers whose artistry already qualifies them for professional careers, and to encourage these young artists to carry on the tradition of fine singing.”??
Kerber earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in vocal performance from Oklahoma City University. She studied in the studio of Professor Larry Keller, who continues as her mentor. Kerber was awarded the DMA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music in 2004.
