Oklahoma City University’s popular film institute has received a $5,000 grant through the John Kirkpatrick Centennial Endowment Challenge. The grant is administered by the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.
The matching grant will help fund screening rights for current films and rare international films, said Harbour Winn, director of Oklahoma City University’s Center for Interpersonal Studies Through Film and Literature.
“As our endowment grows, its earnings will enable us to screen films still in theatrical release that rarely make it to our city,” Winn said.
The OCU Film Institute will open its 27th season next month with Zhang Yimou’s “To Live” at 2 p.m. Sept. 28 in the Kirkpatrick Fine Arts Building on the OCU campus.
