Dr. Heather Conner, associate professor of piano from University of Utah, will perform Chopin and Beethoven at a free recital 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17 in Petree Recital Hall.
Her program at Oklahoma City University will include Chopin Barcarolle, op. 60, Chopin 24 Preludes, op. 28, and Beethoven Sonata in E-Flat Major, op. 31, no. 3.
Conner has won acclaim for her articulate and dynamic performances. She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Arkady Aronov. While earning her master's from Yale University, she studied with Peter Frankl, Boris Berman and Claude Frank. While completing her bachelor's at the Curtis Institute, she studied with piano pedagogue Eleanor Sokoloff.
She has performed as an orchestral soloist and presented solo recitals in Philadelphia, New Haven, Moscow, Salzburg, Seoul, and Salt Lake City. An avid chamber musician, she has performed in Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall and the Glenn Gould Studios in Toronto.
Conner is an artist member of the American Dream Chamber Artists, who regularly perform chamber music at Symphony Space in New York City.
