TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 01
Sergio Monteiro, newly appointed head of the piano program at Oklahoma City University’s Bass School of Music, will perform a solo recital on the Millennium Stage at Kennedy Center on 09.09.09.
Since 1997, the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage has hosted a free daily 6 p.m. performance as part of the Center's "Performing Arts for Everyone" initiative, showcasing national and international artists in music, dance, and theater. The Washington Post calls the series “a cultural institution within a cultural institution.”
Monteiro, winner of the 2003 Martha Argerich International Piano Competition, is presented under the auspices of the Embassy of Brazil.
Monteiro’s performance will be broadcast live on the Kennedy Center website, and added to its archives. For more information, visit http://www.kennedy-center.org/programs/millennium/schedule.html
