MONDAY, OCTOBER 19
OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University dance performance seniors Tracy Halso and Kristen Stanley will fly across the Civic Center Music Hall stage this weekend as Count Dracula’s brides in the Tulsa Ballet’s production of Dracula.
The Oklahoma Premiere of Ben Stevenson’s theatrical ballet masterpiece will be in Oklahoma City for two shows only Oct. 24 and 25. When Artistic Director Marcello Angelini needed additional dancers to fill the many roles in this huge production, he found a pair of talented dancers at Oklahoma City University.
“Tulsa Ballet values the positive relationships we have with dance institutions in the Oklahoma City area and we are making efforts to reach out to them and meet their needs. It is our responsibility to provide support and resources to these great schools. From offering community outreach services to master classes to involving students in our shows, we want to be accessible to Oklahoma’s vibrant dance community,” Angelini said.
“Audiences will enjoy the beauty of spirit and soul as well as the understanding of artistry Tracy Halso and Kristen Stanley will bring to the stage. I am pleased for our dancers to be collaborating with such an excellent organization as the Tulsa Ballet,” said Jo Rowan, dance department chairwoman at OCU’s Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Arts Management.
Oklahoma City audiences will have two opportunities to see Halso and Stanley fly with the professional company of Tulsa Ballet. Presented by Celebrity Attractions, Dracula comes to the Civic Center Music Hall at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 and 2 p.m. Oct. 25.
Dracula is funded in part by the E.L. and Thelma Gaylord Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, and the Oklahoma Arts Council.
