Canterbury Christmas Concert Features OCU Musicians
Violinist Kyle Dillingham, an OCU alumnus and 2009 Governor's Arts Award winner, will be featured as guest artist at the Canterbury Choral Society's Christmas concert, to be held Sunday, Dec. 6, at the historic Civic Center in downtown Oklahoma City. The Canterbury Choral Society is under the direction of Dr. Randi Von Ellefson, director of choral activities at Oklahoma City University. Performances by Dr. Elizabeth Harrison, OCU's university organist, and by Oklahoma City University's Blackwelder Brass will be highlighted. The concert will also feature the Chancel Bell Choir from First Presbyterian Church in Edmond. Before the performance, singers from OCU choruses will carol from the stairs overlooking the lobby. The concert ends with the traditional Canterbury finale, "Peace, Peace," combined with "Silent Night," when the singers surround the audience. Afterward, the audience is invited to a cookie reception. Canterbury Christmas begins at 7 p.m. at the Civic Center Music Hall, 201 N. Walker Ave., Oklahoma City. Tickets cost between $18 and $44. For tickets, call (405) 232-SING or visit www.canterburyokc.com.
