Brightmusic Ensemble Spotlights Anderson, Zieba
Faculty members from the Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University will perform in “Music for Three,” an evening of musical trios with the Brightmusic chamber ensemble, Feb. 9. Professors Michael Anderson, trumpet, and Tomasz Zieba, cello, will be featured in the free program, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral, 127 N.W. 7th St. in downtown Oklahoma City. Anderson is a member of Oklahoma City Philharmonic and the International Trumpet Guild Board of Directors and ITG Journal editorial committee. He is the ITG Journal columnist for trumpet technology and has presented and performed at several ITG Conferences. Zieba is associate principal cello with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and co-principal cellist with the Plano Symphony Orchestra. He has been a member of the Irving Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra and Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra. Zieba has performed and taught master classes in Poland, Spain, Austria, Germany, France, Mexico and the United States. The Feb. 9 program, which also features Gregory Lee on violin and Amy I-Lin Cheng on piano, includes trios from Franz Haydn, Eric Ewazen and Antonín Dvorák. A reception will follow the concert.
