Faculty from the Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University will perform in the April 20 season finale of the Brightmusic chamber ensemble at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral.
Featured faculty qre William Nield Christensen tenor; Lisa Harvey-Reed, oboe; Parthena Owens, flute; Kate Pritchett, horn; and composer Kris Maloy. Admission to the 7:30 p.m. concert is free and open to the public.
The program features Maloy’s “Flourish: A Concertino in Molto Perpetuo for Clarinet and Piano,” as well as “Caprice on Danish and Russian Airs for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet and Piano” by Camille Saint-Saëns; “Concert Piece for Clarinet, Bassoon and Piano No. 2 in D Minor,” Op. 114, by Felix Mendelssohn; “Antique Dances for Wind Quintet,” by Ferenc Farkas; and “Sextet for Piano and Wind Instruments” by Francis Poulenc and selected art songs Lee Hoiby.
