OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City University’s Kramer School of Nursing has partnered with Wiley College to give students new opportunities for careers in nursing. Qualified students at Wiley College can seamlessly transfer into OCU’s traditional or accelerated Bachelor of Science in nursing programs after two-to-four years of studies at Wiley.
Wiley College students pursuing a BSN can complete two years of pre-nursing studies before transferring to OCU. Students who want to earn a second bachelor’s degree can complete their first degree and their nursing prerequisites before transferring.
OCU Nursing Dean Marvel Williamson said all qualified applicants from Wiley College will be accepted for direct entry and will receive a 25 percent tuition scholarship in addition to other financial aid opportunities. Nationally, up to 50,000 qualified applicants are turned away every year and many go on waiting lists for as long as three years.
The U.S. Department of Labor predicts nursing will continue to be the largest growth profession for the next eight years.
“We are pleased to partner with Wiley College and look forward to working with quality students who want a bright future in the nursing profession,” said Marvel Williamson, dean of OCU’s Kramer School of Nursing.
The nursing partnership is OCU’s second initiative with Wiley College, home of the Great Debaters.
