Break a Sweat and Build Scholarships: Come on Out and Race with the Stars
OKLAHOMA CITY ó Runners and walkers alike will lace up their shoes and pound the streets of the Oklahoma City University neighborhood Nov. 6 for the Marianne Vannatta Race with the Stars. The 5K USA Track and Field certified and sanctioned race and 1-mile fun run/walk will raise funds for OCUís Elaine Masters Endowed Scholarship, which assists graduate nursing students at OCUís Kramer School of Nursing. The race begins at 8 a.m. in front of the Freede Center on N.W. 27th Street just west of Florida Ave. The fun run begins at 8:45 a.m. in the same location. Local residents are encourage to participate. Registration is $20 until Nov. 1 and $30 the week of the race and includes a T-shirt. First, second and third place awards will be given in 5-year age categories.
