OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University has appointed Mahmood Shandiz as the university’s associate vice president for international admissions. Shandiz formerly served as senior associate dean and professor of management in the Meinders School of Business.
“Dr. Shandiz brings a wealth of experience and valuable skills to a critically important position in our university,” said OCU Acting Provost Susan Barber, Ph.D. “Dr. Shandiz is highly regarded not only on the OCU campus but nationally and internationally as well. We are very pleased that he has agreed to help enhance our efforts in international recruiting and admissions.”
Shandiz received his B.A. in English from Pars College and an M.S. in social development and welfare from the University of Tehran. He received a Ph.D. in sociology from Oklahoma State University. Additionally, Shandiz has done postdoctoral studies in statistics at Oklahoma State University and in management science at the University of California at LosAngeles. He also earned the diploma from the Management and Leadership in Education Institute at Harvard University.

Shandiz teaches primarily in the areas of statistics and quantitative management. He has taught extensively overseas and served as senior consultant in the MeindersSchool of Business Research and Consulting Center. Shandiz has also served as interim dean of the Meinders School of Business. Before coming to OCU, he was regional sales director for General Nutrition Corporation.
