OCU, Kamp's Kick Off 2011 Cabaret Series

Music theater students fromOklahoma City University will take the spotlight at four Thursday evening cabaret concerts at Kamp’s Deli. The 2011 Kamp’s Kabaret series continues the community partnership between OCU’s Bass School of Music and its historic neighbor, located three blocks east of campus.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m.,with performances from 8-10 p.m. Admission is free for the Jan. 27 concert, with no cover. For subsequent shows, student tickets are $5; $10 for a season subscription. Tickets for non-students are $7.50, or $15 for the three-show subscription.

The season kicks off Jan. 27 with “Show Stoppers: An Evening of Broadway’s Best,” highlighting music theater hits and those that should have been.

The Feb. 17 show is a salute to Valentine’s Day entitled “Amouresque: Broadway’s Most Famous (andInfamous) Love Songs.”

On March 3, the cabaret honors the creator of Guys and Dolls and How to Succeed in Business with Loesser Is More: An Evening of Music by Frank Loesser.”

The season wraps up April 28 with “Second Fiddle: Songs of Secondary Characters.”

The renovated Kamp’s Deli, 1310 NW 25th St., is at the southwest corner of 25th andClassen.
