The Advisory Board’s purpose is to advance Oklahoma City University by connecting alumni to one another and the university, as engaged alumni who Serve, Transform, Advocate, Recruit, and Support.
S – Serve: Offer time and talents through events, mentorship, and leadership opportunities.
T – Transform: Create lasting change by shaping the student experience, strengthening the alumni network, and investing in the future.
A – Advocate: Champion OCU’s mission, promote key initiatives, and uplift fellow alumni.
R – Recruit: Connect students, mentors, speakers, and fellow alumni to help grow and diversify the OCU community.
S – Support: Give financially or provide in-kind resources and invite others in your network to do the same.
Alumni Advisory Board Commitment
- Attend Quarterly Meetings: engage actively in meetings and provide thoughtful input.
- Support Signature Events and Programs: attend or promote events and/or programs within your networks to encourage alumni participation.
- Serve on at Least One Committee: actively contribute to the work of one or more committees each year.
- Recruit and Advocate for Alumni Involvement: identify and recruit alumni to serve as speakers, mentors, and/or volunteers.
- Be a Giving Day Advocate: make a gift of any amount to help reach 100% board member participation and promote OCU’s Giving Day by encouraging support within your networks.
- Support Board Continuity: before your two-year term ends, help identify and recommend at least one potential future board member.
