The Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at Oklahoma City University prepares emerging singers for successful careers on the operatic stage, in the concert hall, and beyond through intensive vocal study, individualized mentorship, and exceptional performance opportunities. Vocal Performance majors benefit from one of the nation’s most vibrant collegiate performance environments. Students regularly perform with the acclaimed Oklahoma Opera & Music Theater Company (the world's oldest campus troupe dedicated to both opera and music theater), which presents a six-production season each year alongside extensive choral, chamber, and solo opportunities. Supported by more than 250 annual performances across the School of Music, vocalists gain substantial stage experience while preparing for careers in performance and teaching. OCU’s long tradition of excellence is reflected in alumni who have performed with many of the world’s leading opera companies, including the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera, San Francisco Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and La Scala.
