Teacher Development Academy

The Teacher Development Academy 2.0 (TDA@OCU) is a 18-day program for emergency and alternative certified teachers in Oklahoma to provide Classroom Management and Pedagogy courses required by the Oklahoma State Department of Education for certification as well as a third course, Teaching Diverse Learners. Completion of these three courses will earn teachers the Reaching and Teaching All Learners microcredential through the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Ed.

  • TDA@OCU will run weekdays, July 1 through 26, 2024, with July 4 & 5 and weekends off
  • Classes meet 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily with a one-hour lunch break
  • The cost is FREE to qualifying teachers. Participants must complete the 2024 FAFSA to determine financial eligibility.
  • For those who are ineligible for federal funding, the cost is $2,624, which covers tuition for 9-credit hours, course text and materials*
  • We are partnering with Oklahoma Educators Credit Union, which is offering low interest continuing education loans to qualifying participants

*TDA@OCU will offer additional support to Academy participants in the fall or spring semester for eight weeks as they work to complete the Praxis Performance Assessment for Teachers (PPAT).
