Whether you are earning your first degree or your next degree, you can become a nurse through our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
- If you are earning your first college degree, simply complete OCU's general education requirements and the nursing prerequisites before your junior year.
- If you have completed an associate's of science degree from a regionally accredited institution and have taken a class which will transfer for our World Religions course, you have met our general education requirements.
- If you have a full undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited institution, you have completely met our general education requirements.

Post-Master’s Advanced Practice Certificates: FNP, AGACNP, and PMHNP
Advanced Practice Certificates are designed for advanced practice nurses who want to obtain education and certification in another advanced practice role. Students can choose between the Family Nurse Practitioner Track (FNP), the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Track (AGACNP), or the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Track (PMHNP).

Doctor of Nursing Practice (BSN-DNP) and DNP Completion
Nurses with a BSN can earn a Doctor of Nursing practice degree through the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)Track.
Advanced practice nurses (APRNs) can can become a Doctor of Nursing Practice with the Clinical Track, Executive Leadership Track, or Community-Based Public Health Track through the DNP Completion program.

PhD and BSN-PhD
The PhD in Nursing prepares expert nurses for roles in education and research.
Students with strong academic backgrounds who know they want to earn a doctorate can proceed through the Master’s Program without having to reapply via the BSN to PhD program.
