SPRING COMMENCEMENT

Commencement is a time of excitement and achievement. We extend a special invitation to you to join us for this celebration, which unites students, parents, faculty, and administration. Oklahoma City University will celebrate spring commencement Saturday, May 10, 2008.

UNDERGRADUATE COMMENCEMENT, 11:00 a.m.
GRADUATE COMMENCEMENT, 3:00 p.m.
Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center
NW 27th Street and Florida Avenue

SPECIAL NEEDS
Seating for those who are unable to climb stairs is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Freede Wellness Center is wheelchair accessible. A sign language interpreter will be available at the ceremony. If you or your guest will require the services of the interpreter, or if you have guests with other special needs please contact Dorothy Tennery at (405) 208-5530.

TICKETS
Tickets are not required for the ceremony. Commencement seating is open. The Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center (map) will open one hour prior to the ceremony. We request that all guests be in their seats no later than fifteen minutes before the ceremony is scheduled to begin.

J. WILLIAM CONGER
Spring 2008 Undergraduate Commencement Speaker

Bill Conger is OCU’s General Counsel and Distinguished Lecturer in Law. He teaches courses in Trial Advocacy, Complex Litigation, and Law Practice Management. Bill is a founding partner in Hartzog Conger Cason & Neville, and is presently serving as President of the Oklahoma Bar Association. He is past president and former director of the Oklahoma County Bar Association.

In 2006 and 2007, Bill was listed as an Oklahoma Super Lawyer. He has also been listed in The Best Lawyers in America, as well as receiving the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Commendation Award. Bill is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers; a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation; and a Trustee and Benefactor Fellow of the Oklahoma Bar Foundation.

Bill served as director for both the Speck Home for Boys and the YMCA Youth and Government Program, and he is a past trustee and past president of the board of trustees of Heritage Hall School. He was awarded the Professor of the Year award from OCU Law School for 2004-05.


RECEPTION FOR GRADUATES ON MAY 9

The Alumni and Provost offices will host a recepiton for graduates, their friends and families, and faculty and administrators in the Great Hall of the Tom and Brenda McDaniel University Center on Friday, May 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
