Apply for Graduation

We have two ways to apply for graduation. The preferred way is using the Online Graduation Application Process. This is where currently enrolled students will apply for graduation. Click here for a quick tutorial on how to apply online.

If you are not a current student and need to apply to graduate, you will need to use one of the forms found under Graduation Application Forms.

Only one of the above processes need to be completed to apply for graduation.

Deadlines for applying for graduation are published in the Academic Calendar.

With either application process, it takes approximately six to eight weeks for a diploma order to be processed and returned to the Registrar's Office from the Herff Jones Company, Iola, Kansas.

You can get a pdf of the following instructions here.

1. Go to the BlueLink landing page.

2. Click on the “BlueLink” button to log in with your OCU credentials.

3. Once you have logged in go to your “Student” tab

4. On your “Student” tab you can click on “Apply to Graduate”

5. Select the current term from the menu and hit “Submit”

6. Choose your curriculum and “Continue”

  • If you do not see your correct curriculum please stop and contact your academic advisor. They can help to make sure we have the correct information in the system.
  • If you are earning a double degree or a double major you will need to submit multiple applications. Multiple majors (ex. Bachelor of Arts in English and Mass Communications) will only receive one diploma.

7. Choose your graduation date and “Continue”

  • Your graduation date is determined by your dates of attendance. If you will complete your requirements (including CLEP exams, transfer courses, etc.) before the May graduation date you will be a May graduate. If your requirements are not complete until after the May date you will be a Summer graduate.
  • Summer graduates are automatically included in the May Commencement Ceremony
  • Incompletes do not affect graduation dates.
  • If you have a question about which date to apply for please contact your academic advisor

8. Select if you are planning to attend the graduation ceremony

9. Select a name for the diploma. On the next page you can double check spelling and adjust how your name will be displayed on the diploma.

10. Select a mailing address. On the next page you can double check the address and adjust the address if needed.

  • If your diploma mailing address changes after you submit your application you will need to contact the Registrar’s Office directly at [email protected].

11. Review the information for the application. If everything is correct click “Submit Request”

12. You should now see a confirmation page. You will also receive a confirmation email to your OCU email address the next morning.

Congratulations!

To apply for graduation you will need to pick up your Application for Graduation from the Registrar's Office. You then need to make an appointment to meet with your advisor so that a final degree check can be processed.

After completing the final degree check your advisor will sign your application for graduation. Return the application for graduation to the Registrar's Office.

Students who are unable to come on campus: The forms below are for students who have completed or will complete their academic programs during the current semester, who are unable to come on-campus and need to apply for graduation.
