Special Events

Through some of our collaborations, we're able to help create special opportunities outside of our regular programs. Each year we host mid-and high-school students at for the Oklahoma Writing Project's "Write to Win" conference, and we regularly sponsor OCU students to attend workshops at the Oklahoma Arts Institute to develop their creative work. Recently we partnered with the Oklahoma Parkinsons Alliance to bring poet Wayne Gilbert and filmmaker and author Dave Iverson to campus, and we are standing partners in OCU's Lemon Distinguished Speaker Series, which has in recent years brought such nationally renowned figures as author and justice reform advocate Piper Kerman (Orange Is the New Black), ocean conservationist Fabien Cousteau, and Killers of the Flower Moon author David Grann.

Coming this fall . . .

We're excited to partner with the Wimberly School of Religion Willson Lectures to host poet and theologian Pádraig Ó Tuama, host of the podcast Poetry Unbound on Oct. 26, 2023.
