The Academy teaches a classical voice technique. Instructors work on breathing, posture, placement, and developing a pleasing tone, scales, diction, and repertoire. Students will study age and ability-appropriate music in classical, folk, and music theater repertoire.

For students of all levels, instructors work on basic keyboard skills (scales, chords, rhythm), sight reading, and basic music theory. Instructors tailor a program to each student’s needs whether they are a young or adult beginner or preparing to study music in college.

Includes violin, cello, viola and guitar. The focus is a classical technique, scales, finger positions, and repertoire. Violin, viola, and cello students may audition to join our chamber orchestra, Academy Sinfonia. Harp students must have prerequisite study in piano.

Instruction in trumpet, trombone, horn, tuba, and euphonium includes scales, breathing exercises, technique, and finger positioning.

Instruction includes rhythm, sight-reading, and basic music theory for traditional percussion instruments and drum set.
